Guests:
ライセンス (License, a comedy duo)
Part two of the fourth in a series of eating marathons around Tokyo, the Gaki regulars must make their way to 25 Yakiniku stores around Tokyo's Yamanote line, at each shop eating one item from a 25 entry menu.
Refereed by ライセンス, if any of the five regulars chooses not to continue, they do not win the 100,000 yen prize. Additionally, the retiree pays for all Yakiniku eaten up to that point.
Side orders must be paid directly by the ordering party.
Starting in this episode, a "lucky" and "unlucky" card game is added to the mix. In the case of the "lucky" draw, the person who receives the ドクマーク(doku mark, poison mark, or skull-and crossbones) card does not have to eat at the current restaurant. In the case of the "unlucky" draw, the person with the doku-maku is forced to eat three pieces of the current dish.
Episode Analysis (spoilers):
Yet another food marathon, and yet another failure-- and yet again the weak link is Yamasaki. Just as in the previous sushi marathon, Yamasaki is the one to ultimately cry "Give Up" and assume the cost of the marathon to that point.
I also think this will be the final such marathon for some time. The genuine feeling of discomfort established in the previous episode, with Matsumoto's fever and his chomping down an excess of food, here reaches a crescendo. The usual quick wit of the Gaki regulars is dulled by the sheer amount of food they are forced to eat, and the episode, like the marathon, soon loses its pleasure.
The bizarre incident where Endou fakes and injury when leaving the people-carrier underlines how uncomfortable this forced march had become. When the regulars are having a hard time getting an easy laugh, it's time to call it quits.
